Contact your local registrar’s office to get a certified copy of your U.S. birth certificate.
Submit your application to the Secretary of State for the apostille certificate.
You will have to get US DOS authentication and legalization from the destination country’s Embassy if it’s a non-Hague country.
The original birth certificate is required so notary certified copies are not acceptable in most cases.
Visit Globeia.com to get up-to-date information on getting your U.S. birth certificate apostilled.
